When buyers are looking at a house, they want to envision it as their home and it can be difficult doing that when there’s pictures of someone else’s family on the walls. Take down anything that made your home, your home. Any pictures, religious items, or personalized knickknacks. Replace the empty space with paintings or other art.

You want your home to appear as open as possible. Remove anything that does not increase your home’s appeal or anything that creates clutter. Things sitting on coffee tables or dressers like papers or pens make things looked cluttered, so be sure to put them away.

This one might be self-explanatory, but it is something many sellers don’t do, and it costs them. You want your home to be as clean as possible inside and out. This means vacuuming and dusting inside, and raking and trimming outside.

Everyone likes saving money, especially home-buyers. When you’re looking to upgrade your home, take cost-saving factors into account. Have your energy company perform an energy audit and see how you can improve energy efficiency. Adding anything that saves money will help attract buyers. It could even be something as simple as a water filtration system, removing the need for bottled water!
10. Find the Right Broker
One of the biggest reasons some homes never sell, is because the seller hired a bad Realtor. Many people hire the first agent they come across. It is so crucial to make sure you have a good agent that will get you a good price for your house and fast. Make sure you find a Maryland real estate agent that has experience in the area previously and knows what they’re doing.
